Our History
As a child I had the opportunity to read a book entitled “Champion Dog Prince Tom”. Since that time I always dreamed of having a purebred registered American Cocker Spaniel so that we could compete in obedience trials and ultimately like the cocker in the book obtain an obedience trial championship.
In the fall of 1983 an ad ran in our local paper and needless to say a purebred, registered, buff female cocker came home with me and the rest is history.
My dreams came true as that buff cocker went on to become Can OTCH Shaandis Silver Sunglow Am CDX TT.
Shaandis was bred twice to Can CH Kataxin’s First Offender and from those names Shaandis and Kataxin came my kennel name “Shaankata”. This relationship also spawned a life time of friendship & mentoring with Geri Mozel of Kataxin cockers.
